Sonia Gayete-Lafuente

Dr. Sonia Gayete-Lafuente is a fertility specialist and physician-scientist who works as an attending physician and Director of Medical Education at the Center for Human Reproduction (CHR) in New York. She holds both MD and PhD degrees. After medical school in Spain, she trained in obstetrics and gynecology and then in reproductive endocrinology and infertility in Barcelona. She went on to advanced fellowship training at Yale University School of Medicine, concentrating on fertility preservation, ovarian insufficiency and complex endocrine disorders. She first came to CHR and the Foundation for Reproductive Medicine as a physician-scientist fellow. Alongside seeing patients, she conducts research on ovarian aging, androgens and immune endocrinology, and IVF outcomes, and publishes in peer-reviewed journals.
