Gen 5 Fertility Center

Gen 5 Fertility Center is an independent fertility clinic in San Diego led by reproductive endocrinologist Samuel Wood, MD, PhD, who serves as president and director of fertility services and is also a certified high-complexity laboratory director. The physician team includes veteran reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Benito Villanueva and male-fertility urologist Dr. Martin Bastuba, with Dr. Catharine Adams directing the embryology lab.

The clinic is located at 3420 Carmel Mountain Road, Suite 200, in San Diego, and runs its own IVF laboratory with vitrification and time-lapse embryo culture. Services include diagnostic testing, ovulation induction, IUI, IVF with ICSI, egg freezing, egg donation, HSG, hysteroscopy and laparoscopy, tubal evaluation, semen analysis and TESA sperm retrieval. A distinctive program is ovarian rejuvenation, aimed at women with low ovarian reserve or repeated IVF failure.

Gen 5 works with LGBTQ+ families, including donor-egg IVF with gestational surrogacy for gay couples, and sees many patients who travel from abroad. It offers Spanish and Chinese-language pages, and its Chinese site advertises a Chinese-speaking coordination team with WeChat contact.
