About

San Diego Fertility Center (SDFC) has been treating patients since 1989, when it was founded by Dr. William Hummel. Its egg donation program was one of the first in the United States and is still among the larger physician-supervised donor programs on the West Coast. SDFC is part of the Ivy Fertility network of practices.

The main office and in-house IVF laboratory are in Del Mar, with satellite offices in Mission Valley, Temecula and Rancho Santa Margarita. Care spans infertility evaluation, IUI, conventional and gentle IVF, egg freezing, embryo genetic testing, donor egg and gestational surrogacy programs, male infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss and fertility preservation for cancer patients, as well as family building for LGBTQ+ patients and single parents.

The center runs a dedicated program for international patients, including a Mandarin-speaking team; medical director Dr. Sandy Chuan is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
