Maria Bertero

About

Dr. Maria Bertero is an embryologist and the laboratory director at Kofinas Fertility Group in New York and has headed its embryology laboratory since 2002. She received her medical degree from the National University of Rosario in Argentina and trained in obstetrics and gynecology at the Urban Zonal Hospital of Pergamino in Buenos Aires province. She went on to complete a fellowship in reproductive physiology at the University of Kentucky and a master's degree in clinical embryology and andrology at the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine, Eastern Virginia Medical School. Before joining Kofinas, she directed the reproductive endocrinology laboratory at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, from 1998 to 2002. Her published work covers embryology and andrology, and her training includes egg and embryo freezing and embryo biopsy.
