Kevin K. Oum

About

Dr. Kevin K. Oum is the embryology laboratory director at Reproductive Sciences Medical Center (RSMC) in San Diego; he is a PhD scientist rather than a physician. He earned his doctorate in animal reproduction at Konkuk University in Seoul and taught human embryology, cell biology and genetic engineering at Choongmoon Medical School and other Korean institutions. In the United States he served as scientific director at the Columbia University fertility center in New York, and his early work on ICSI and blastocyst vitrification was recognized by ASRM. He is certified as a High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director and Clinical Consultant through the American Board of Bioanalysis, and his laboratory focus includes ICSI, embryo biopsy, surgical sperm retrieval and cryopreservation.
