About
VCU Reproductive Medicine is the fertility program of VCU Health, the academic health system of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. VCU Health created a dedicated division of reproductive endocrinology and infertility in 2010, naming Richard S. Lucidi, MD, as its first director; he continues to lead the program.
The clinic operates from the Stony Point 9109 building on VCU Health's Stony Point campus in Richmond, where consultations, testing and procedures are handled under one roof. Its care team brings together reproductive endocrinologists, urologists, OB-GYNs, genetic counselors, maternal-fetal medicine specialists and nurses, and it coordinates with oncology and genetics services across the health system.
Services include ovulation induction, fertility surgery, IUI, IVF with ICSI, preimplantation genetic testing of embryos, egg, sperm and embryo freezing, and evaluation of recurrent miscarriage and male infertility. The program offers fertility preservation for people facing cancer treatment and for transgender and non-binary patients before or during gender-affirming hormone therapy, and it treats same-sex couples and single parents by choice.
