About
Columbia University Fertility Center is the academic fertility program of Columbia University Irving Medical Center, and its doctors practice as part of ColumbiaDoctors. The program began in 1983, and Columbia describes it as the first IVF program in New York City. It sits within the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, which is led by Zev Williams, MD, PhD. Eric Forman, MD, is medical and IVF laboratory director.
In June 2018 the center moved its clinic and IVF laboratory into the penthouse of 5 Columbus Circle in Manhattan. The center also has offices in White Plains (Westchester) and Teaneck, New Jersey, which offer morning cycle monitoring.
Services include fertility testing, IUI, IVF with preimplantation genetic testing, egg freezing and embryo banking, and an oncofertility program. Patients with severe male-factor infertility can use STAR, a technique for finding sperm in azoospermia. The center also offers a recurrent pregnancy loss program, care for LGBTQ+ patients, and third-party reproduction, including egg donation, donor sperm, embryo donation and a gestational carrier program.
