About
The Center for Advanced Reproductive Services (CARS), also known as UConn Fertility, is an academic affiliate of the UConn School of Medicine. Its IVF program began in the 1980s on the campus of the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, and in 1998 it was reorganized under its current name through a management agreement with Women's Health USA. CARS is now part of First Fertility, a U.S. network of fertility centers.
The Farmington office at 2 Batterson Park Road is the program's hub, with an embryology laboratory fitted with LifeAire air purification, where egg retrievals, embryo transfers, IUI and semen testing are performed. The practice also has offices in Hartford, Branford, Middlebury and Danbury, Connecticut, and in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Services include IUI, IVF, preimplantation genetic testing, carrier screening, egg freezing and fertility preservation. CARS runs its own egg donor and gestational carrier programs, uses donor sperm, and offers LGBTQ+ family building, including fertility preservation for transgender patients, along with acupuncture, nutrition and other integrative support.
