D. Austin Schirmer

About

Dr. D. Austin Schirmer is a reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist at Emory Reproductive Center in Atlanta and an Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine. He grew up in Connecticut and earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in 2011, then completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Emory. He cares for patients with infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss and endocrine conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome, primary ovarian insufficiency and functional hypothalamic amenorrhea, and offers fertility preservation for elective or medical reasons. As a guest researcher at the CDC he studied ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, and he has published work on fertility in survivors of childhood cancer. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
