About
The Fertility & Reproductive Medicine Center is the academic fertility program of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis (WashU Medicine), run through its Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility. Its assisted reproduction program produced Missouri's first IVF baby in 1985, and the center has been a SART member since 1992. Dr. Kenan Omurtag serves as medical director and division chief.
The main clinic is in the Central West End at 4444 Forest Park Avenue, Suite 3100, with satellite offices in West County on the Missouri Baptist Medical Center campus and in Shiloh and Carbondale, Illinois, plus telemedicine for patients in Springfield.
Care spans medical therapies, IUI, IVF with ICSI, preimplantation genetic testing and carrier screening, and fertility surgery for both women and men. The center offers donor egg (including a frozen egg bank), donor sperm and embryo donation programs, a gestational carrier program, recurrent pregnancy loss care and LGBTQIA+ family building, as well as an integrated fertility preservation program for cancer and non-cancer patients.
