CARE for the Bay Area

CARE for the Bay Area (Center for Assisted Reproduction and Endocrinology) is an independent fertility practice in Los Gatos, in the South Bay region of Silicon Valley. Its founder and director, Dr. Karen J. Purcell, is board-certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility and trained at Yale, UCLA and UCSF. Dr. Vanessa Julaton directs the laboratory.

The clinic is on Knowles Drive in Los Gatos, with andrology and hormone-testing laboratories on site alongside its IVF lab. The lab handles ICSI, assisted hatching, blastocyst culture, embryo biopsy for PGT-A, PGT-M and PGT-SR, and the freezing of eggs, embryos and sperm. Clinical services cover IUI, conventional IVF, minimal-stimulation IVF, fertility preservation, egg donation and gestational surrogacy.

A Modern Families program supports LGBT couples and single parents, with donor sperm, shared-motherhood IVF, and egg-donor and gestational-carrier pathways. Chinese-speaking patients can use a Chinese-language web page, a dedicated Mandarin phone line, WeChat and Chinese-speaking clinical staff.
