Robert Anderson

About

Dr. Robert E. Anderson is a reproductive endocrinologist who founded the Southern California Center for Reproductive Medicine in Newport Beach in 1992, described by the practice as Orange County's first independent IVF center, and he continues to lead it. He also set up the affiliated Southern California Institute for Reproductive Sciences laboratory, where his team adopted techniques such as blastocyst culture, assisted hatching and ultrasound-guided embryo transfer. He studied at the University of Colorado in Boulder, earned his M.D. at Tulane University School of Medicine, completed obstetrics and gynecology residency at Chicago Lying-In Hospital of the University of Chicago, and trained in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. He is board certified in both OB-GYN and REI, has published on embryo vitrification and transfer techniques, and has worked on preimplantation genetic testing and stem cell research collaborations.
