Cryogenic Laboratories Inc

Cryogenic Laboratories, Inc. (CLI) in Roseville, Minnesota, is described by its current owner as the first commercial sperm bank developed in the United States. In 2002 it joined the family of cryobanks run by the Genetics & IVF Institute of Fairfax, Virginia, and it now operates as the Roseville branch of Fairfax Cryobank; the old cryolab.com address redirects to the Fairfax Cryobank website, and CLI donors are listed in Fairfax's donor search.

The Roseville facility at 1944 Lexington Avenue North has stored reproductive specimens for more than 40 years and serves as a drop-off and pick-up point for frozen samples. When the University of Minnesota's Reproductive Medicine Center closed in 2015, its stored specimens were transferred here.

Through the Fairfax network the site offers donor sperm with genetic and infectious-disease screening, long-term storage of sperm, embryos and eggs, directed and known donor services, and shipping to physicians in all 50 states and more than 50 countries. Clients include LGBTQ+ families, single mothers by choice and couples facing infertility, and Fairfax maintains a Chinese-language website and a Chinese-speaking coordinator.
