Assisted Fertility Program

The Assisted Fertility Program (AFP) is an independent fertility practice in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Marwan M. Shaykh founded it in 1985, and it was the first IVF program in North Florida. Dr. Shaykh, a board-certified OB/GYN who trained in reproductive endocrinology at the University of Miami, still serves as program director. He works alongside a small team that includes an in-house embryologist and andrologist.

The main office is on University Boulevard South in Jacksonville. The practice also has a satellite office in Lake Mary, which serves the Orlando area, and lists an office in Deerfield Beach. Patients who travel from other states for tubal reversal surgery can get help with hotel arrangements.

Services include fertility testing, ovulation induction, IUI, IVF, INVOcell intravaginal culture, and GIFT/ZIFT. The practice also offers egg freezing and fertility preservation, along with treatment for LGBTQ+ patients. AFP runs its own fresh egg donor program and also arranges frozen donor eggs, donor sperm, and donated embryos from outside banks. It coordinates gestational carrier cycles as well. Tubal reversal surgery is one of its long-standing specialties.
