Seattle Sperm Bank

Seattle Sperm Bank (SSB) is a donor sperm bank founded in 2008 and headquartered in Seattle, Washington. Its main office and donor lab is at 4915 25th Avenue NE, Suite 204, near the University of Washington campus. SSB also runs donor labs in Tempe, Arizona, Denver, Colorado, and La Jolla, California. In Europe it has two affiliates, Copenhagen Sperm Bank in Denmark and Sussex Sperm Bank in England.

The bank focuses on Open ID donors, who agree to some form of contact with donor-conceived children once they turn 18. Donors go through extended genetic carrier screening, a psychological evaluation by a licensed psychologist, criminal background checks and education verification. Recipients can search detailed donor profiles online.

SSB sells and ships IUI and ICI vials to clinics and, where allowed, to homes for insemination. Other services include genetic counseling, free photo matching, sibling and family-slot reservations, long-term vial storage and directed donor programs. The bank serves LGBTQ+ families, single parents by choice and couples with male-factor infertility, and it ships internationally.
