About
Fairfax Cryobank is one of the longer-established donor sperm banks in the United States. It was organized in 1986 by the Genetics & IVF Institute in Fairfax, Virginia, founded by Joseph D. Schulman, MD, initially to supply frozen donor sperm to the institute's own patients. In 2002 Cryogenic Laboratories, Inc. joined the institute's family of cryobanks, and its donors are now offered through Fairfax Cryobank's catalog.
The Austin office at 1305 West 34th Street, Suite 210, is one of several branch sites alongside the Fairfax headquarters and locations in Houston, Philadelphia, Roseville (Minnesota), Pasadena and Miami. Released donor inventory is held in Virginia; clients can have vials shipped to Austin for local pickup or long-term storage, and the branch also handles client sperm freezing.
The bank screens and releases donor sperm for home insemination, IUI and IVF, and supplies physicians and medical centers in all 50 states and many other countries. Its website has versions for several countries, including a Chinese-language page that refers clients to a China coordinator reachable by email or WeChat.
