About
Fairfax Cryobank was established in 1986 as the cryopreservation division of the Genetics & IVF Institute (GIVF), the Fairfax, Virginia center founded by Dr. Joseph D. Schulman in 1984. Its sister companies include Fairfax EggBank, which ships frozen donor eggs to IVF clinics, Cryogenic Laboratories in Minnesota and Pacific Reproductive Services in California.
This record is the headquarters at 3015 Williams Drive, Suite 110, in Fairfax. Donor sperm that has cleared quarantine is held here, and orders are shipped from this site to the bank's branch pick-up locations in Austin, Houston, Philadelphia, Roseville, Pasadena and Miami as well as to clinics nationwide.
The bank offers an online catalog of screened donors with expanded genetic testing, identity-disclosure options and donor-selection support, along with home-insemination guidance, directed or known donor services, and storage of sperm, eggs and embryos, including fertility preservation for people starting hormone therapy. It welcomes LGBTQ+ and single-parent families. A multilingual international team ships to more than 50 countries through regional distributors, and the site has localized versions including a Chinese-language page.
