Brownstone Surrogacy

Brownstone Surrogacy is a gestational surrogacy agency based on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, founded in 2021 by attorney Jarret Zafran after New York legalized compensated gestational surrogacy. Zafran, a former litigator who became a father through surrogacy and egg donation, built the agency around the experience he and his husband had as intended parents. It is licensed as a surrogacy matching program by the New York State Department of Health.

The agency screens surrogates before matching, including medical record review by a medical professional and psychological evaluations of both surrogates and intended parents. Each family and surrogate has a single coordinator, and the flat agency fee covers coordination of IVF, transfer and donor cycles as well as rematching in defined situations. Brownstone does not run its own egg donor database but advises parents on finding donors through clinics, egg banks or agencies.

Brownstone works with intended parents in all 50 states and from abroad, regardless of marital status or sexual orientation, and recruits surrogates in states where compensated surrogacy is legal.
